Actelis Networks® is led by an executive team of industry leaders with successful track records in telecommunications companies such as 3Com, ADC, Adtran, Alcatel, AT&T Bell Laboratories, Cisco Systems, Ericsson, Intel, and Motorola, as well as pre-IPO companies.
Tuvia Barlev
President, Chief Executive Officer, and Co-Founder
Prior to co-founding Actelis Networks, Inc., in 1998, Mr. Barlev was head of the R&D organization at Teledata, a high-speed communications company, where he led the DLC R&D department. Previously, Mr. Barlev held top management positions in government research organizations as head of several elite communications projects. Mr. Barlev holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in electrical engineering-both with honors-from Tel Aviv University.
Ioannis Kanellakopoulos, Ph.D.
Chief Technology Officer
Ioannis Kanellakopoulos is responsible for next-generation networks technology strategy and development, including standards activities and intellectual property. Prior to joining Actelis, he provided consulting services in intellectual property and new technology development, primarily to technology companies in the communications, consumer electronics, and semiconductor sectors. He was previously with Tymphany Corporation from 2003 to 2005, where he served as vice president of engineering, and with Voyan Technology from 2000 to 2003, where he served as Chief Scientist for Control and later as president. Prior to joining Voyan, he was professor and vice chair in the electrical engineering department at UCLA.
Dr. Kanellakopoulos co-authored the book, "Nonlinear and Adaptive Control Design," and over 80 technical papers in highly selective scientific journals and conferences. He is also a co-inventor on eight issued and six filed patents, and his research contributions have been recognized through several awards. Dr. Kanellakopoulos received his diploma from the National Technical University of Athens in 1987, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1989 and 1992, all in electrical engineering.
Avital HarShoshanim
General Manager, Research and Development, Israel Site Manager
Avital HarShoshanim oversees all research and development activities at Actelis Networks, bringing more than 18 years of experience in product and system engineering, as well as hardware and software development, in telecommunications. Previously, HarShoshanim served as vice president of research and development of 888.com, where he managed software development and maintenance of all mission critical business applications. Prior to this, he was vice president of R&D at Cardonet, managing the software development and testing groups. Throughout the 1990s, he was responsible for managing R&D centers and the product development of telecom services for leading companies, including ADC, Amdocs, AppStream and Telrad Telecommunications. HarShoshanim graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Jerusalem’s College of Technology.
Eric Vallone
Vice President, Marketing
Eric Vallone is responsible for setting the direction of Actelis’ product portfolio, as well introducing its products to the market. Mr. Vallone started his career as an engineer at AT&T Bell Laboratories implementing network management solutions. Prior to joining Actelis, he was director of product management and marketing at ADTRAN, responsible for all carrier network products, including their multiservice access platforms, optical multiplexers, DSLAMs and HDSL solutions. Vallone also served as director of product management at Paradyne Networks, where he managed several product lines, including business class and residential CPE, Voice-over-IP and VoATM products and network management solutions. Mr. Vallone has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from SUNY Stony Brook, a master’s in computer science from Columbia University, and an MBA from Purdue University. He holds several patents on service level management and network troubleshooting.
Joe Manuele
Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales & Customer Support
Bringing more than 22 years of experience in the networking and telecommunications industries to Actelis, Joe Manuele is responsible for all customer-facing functions, including sales and customer support. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Manuele held executive positions at Adtran, Sycamore Networks, and Cisco Systems. His vast international experience includes managing sales and support organizations in Canada, Europe, and Latin America. He holds a degree in computer sciences from CDI in Montreal, and is fluent in English, French, Italian and Spanish.
Yaron Altit
General Manager, EMEA
Yaron Altit brings more than 15 years of experience to his position as Actelis’ General Manager of the company’s EMEA business unit, including more than 12 years in sales management positions in the telecom, datacom, and control plane industries. In his Gm role, Altit will be responsible for all EMEA region customer-facing functions, including: sales, customer support, pre-sale engineering, business development and regional marketing. Mr. Altit has held sales positions in a number of telecommunication companies, including management of Sales and Business Development at Mindspeed Technologies in Israel. Previously, Mr. Altit was responsible for European sales at T-Soft (now Cramer Systems, an Amdocs OSS division). Prior to T-Soft, Altit served in various sales positions at 3Com, where he was responsible for sales in the telecommunication and defense sectors.
Bruce Hammergren
Senior Vice President of Sales, Americas
With over 28 years of experience in the telecommunications and data networking industry, Bruce Hammergren brings a broad range of experience to Actelis Networks as the company’s Senior Vice President of Sales for the Americas. Prior to joining Actelis, he had responsibility for microwave and RF system sales at Motorola C&E. Previously, he managed sales, field engineering, and distributors for DSL and DSLAM products, selling into the service provider and federal government markets for PairGain. Hammergren’s start-up experience includes Westwave, where he initiated and developed the sales team for this softswitch company, which was funded by Alcatel to develop call control on digital loop carrier systems. Hammergren also served as Vice President of Strategic Sales for Ericsson Data Backbone and Optical Networks, where he worked with carriers in Asia and the U.S. to migrate their TDM backbone to IP.
Alon Bassman
Vice President of Sales, APAC
Alon Bassman has more then 16 years of experience in the telecommunication industry and with telecom operators worldwide. Mr. Bassman joined Actelis Networks from Seabridge, a Siemens company, where he was the Director of Sales for APAC and OEM Channels, responsible for Carrier Ethernet and ATM sales in Asia. Prior to Seabridge, Mr. Bassman was with ECI Telecom both in the Access and SDH business units in marketing and sales positions. Mr. Bassman has vast experience in the markets of Access, WLL and Transmission. Mr. Bassman holds a B.Sc. in electronic engineering from Tel-Aviv University.
Gabi Reish
Vice President, Product Management
Gabi Reish brings more than 14 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, including more than a decade of product management experience, to Actelis. Prior to joining the company, he led product management teams in Vocaltec Communications, Kagoor Networks (acquired by Juniper Networks) and Atrica (a leading carrier Ethernet equipment vendor that was acquired by Nokia Siemens Networks). Mr. Reish holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology, and a joint MBA from the Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern University) and Recanati School of Business Administration (Tel-Aviv University).
Lior Torem
Vice President, Finanace and Administration
Lior Torem brings more than 10 years of accounting and finance experience to Actelis Networks. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Torem was a corporate controller at Gilat Communications Ltd., where he was responsible for budgets, accounting, worldwide banking, and led the financial efforts for the company’s successful IPO. Mr. Torem holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and economics from Bar-Ilan University, and has been a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) since 1996.
Orna Raiter
Vice President, Human Resources
Orna Raiter brings more than 17 years of human resources and organizational development experience to Actelis Networks. Through the years, she has been very successful in designing and building new organizations as well as creating change oriented work environments. Prior to joining Actelis Networks, she served as the corporate director of human resources at Telrad Telecommunications. She has also held human resources leadership roles with Tmhat Ltd. and Jobtov Ltd. Raiter holds a B.A. in sociology and organizational behavior (Cum Laude) from Tel Aviv University, and a diploma in organizational consulting from Tel Aviv University.
